Artist Statement
Personally I favor vision over craft yet, after studying with Allen Dutton at Phoenix College in the 1970’s and Bill Jay at Arizona State University, I realize that one without the other means very little.
Bio
Born in Phoenix, after earning a BAE from ASU, he leaves Arizona for Spain in 1981staying for over 30 years working as a photojournalist for the Associated Press, Camera Press and The Image Works. As a news photographer for a local Madrid paper he covers everything from sports to fashion to some of the worst years of ETA (Basque) terrorism all the while finding time for personal projects like “The Gran Via” (shown here).
