Artist Statement

I thrive on those moments between moments, actions between actions where we think no one is watching. The human indecisive frailties.

My work isn’t political or cause based. It’s vaguely philosophical, observational and autobiographical. I continually feel out of step and in a place of trying to connect. Strangely I’m at home with this.

Bio

I’m a graduate of The Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA. I’ve been a commercial photographer for forty years. Working with local and national ad agencies and corporations. My involvement in photography started when I was 12. My parents took me to The Family of Man exhibition and I realized the power a single image can have. I began exploring the medium and feel in love with light and from that point on I began my immersion into discovery. Many years later I knew I wanted to make a living in photography. Commercial photography was the best way for me to be creative and have an income. All along I’ve consistently shot personal work. Now I’m on a new journey of re-discovering why I picked up a camera in the first place…to connect to my world in my own autobiographical way.
