Umpire of Chaos: A Digital Art Exhibition by Jeffrey Maitland
What happens when an ordained Zen monk, who is also a world renowned Rolfer, a former professor of philosophy at Purdue University (specializing in the philosophy of art), an author of three books and numerous professional articles, switches to a digital camera and learns Photoshop?
… A stunning celebration of the poetry of the visual world.
Simply stated, Jeffrey Maitland’s photographs manifest a way of seeing. Their meaning is not to be found in what they represent, but in a sensuous dance of light, color, and form. By revealing the extraordinary in the ordinary, his images draw the viewer into participating in the freedom of the dynamic interplay among abstractly composited images and poetically rendered objects. Cultivating the freedom and sensibility to experience the unseen in the seen, his art is about its own origin.
Jeff will be on hand this one night only to share his insights in creating these dynamic images. Signed reproductions may be ordered at the reception or any time while the show is on exhibition.
Admission is free of charge.
