This summer in June and July young students, ages 9 through 14, can join the creative team at Art Intersection for an afternoon of making art.

A different art form will be explored every Tuesday in June and July (except, no classes on June 18 and July 2). Join us for one or all of the classes and go home with a finished piece of art each week. All materials included.

To pay for these classes buy a bundle of all 7 for $100, or click on the individual class and pay $20 within 24-hours of the class. You can drop-in to the class for $25 and pay at Art Intersection that day before the start of the class.

Photography Name Hunt, June 4

Enhance your photography skills as you explore the Heritage Court area to shoot the letters of your name. See how creative you can be with this scavenger hunt to create a one of a kind poster of your name. Each student will take home a 13”x19” poster of their unique photo nameplate. Bring your own digital camera or use one at Art Intersection.

Nature Printing, June 11

Using the sun, a light sensitive solution on paper and plants, we will create a beautiful blue one-of-a-kind piece of art. All materials included, but students are welcome to bring plant cuttings from home to use in their artwork.

Painting with Light, June 25

See how photography allows you to experiment with time and light to draw colorful images in thin air. Each student will take home a finalized 8×10” print of the image they created.

Drawing, July 9

Come explore the wonderful world of drawing using materials like graphite, charcoal, and ink. Several fun and creative drawing techniques will be introduced to improve basic skills and creativity. Each student will bring home several unique drawings.

Make Art, July 16

Come play with Art Intersection’s art supplies to create a unique piece of art. Learn simple techniques for photo transfers, collage, and stitching to incorporate into your final work. Each student will take home a finished piece. All materials included, but students are welcome to bring items from home to use in their artwork.

Self-Portraits, July 23

Put yourself in front of the camera and explore portraiture with Art Intersection’s equipment. Learn more about self-portraits and use lighting and props to create your one-of-a-kind portrait. Each student will take home a 5×7” print of the favorite picture they took.

Bookmaking, July 30

Making your own book can be both fun and practical for all ages. Students will learn how to create a simple bound book that can be used for things like journals, storybooks, sketchbooks, and more. You will have time to embellish and decorate your final design. Leave class with your own hand-made soft cover book!
