Photographs by Eduardo L. Rivera
Eduardo brings forth a new body of black and white photographs which denote a metaphysical journey within himself. Influenced by the likes of classical composers, formalism and landscape, Eduardo approaches this series as an interlude to his most recent works, which documents the residents and culture of his childhood neighborhood in south Phoenix.
“This body of work originated as a visceral reaction towards my environment. I became fascinated in how life, with all of its spiritual dimensions, has a direct correlation to matter. The cyclical and interrelated links are a continuous sphere of stress and relief that consume each other, creating a new virtuous circle. As this series continues, I identify how the photographs are attempts to establish themselves as a reflection of my life, with all of its conflicting realities.”
