Palladium Open Studio
If you have taken a platinum/palladium workshop at Art Intersection or are proficient in the process, you are invited to participate in a Open Studio day dedicated to palladium printing! Open Studios at Art Intersection provide continued support for artists after a workshop, make specialized resources readily available, and provide an opportunity for artists to work along like-minded thinkers and share knowledge about their craft. In this Open Studio, we will be using the same palladium process used in our Platinum/Palladium Workshop with Michael T. Puff.
The registration fee includes access to the lab for the day, but does not include materials for prints or digital negatives. Materials, including paper and chemistry, may be purchased for $12 per print, and Art Intersection staff will print digital negatives on demand for $5 each. Participants are encouraged to bring transparencies they already have!
Note: this is not a workshop. Participating artists are encouraged to share ideas and methods, there will be no instruction on the palladium process.
In addition to the open lab, the day will start at 9am with a Platinum/Palladium Printing Working Group meeting. This is an opportunity to meet other platinum/palladium printers, reconnect with friends from workshops, and share some work you’ve done already. This meeting will last no longer than an hour, but may be more brief depending on how active the discussion is. Art Intersection hosts Working Group meetings and Open Studios on a recurring basis.
