Finding Your Audience: An MVS Marketing Workshop
During this special workshop I will present many illustrated lectures filled with current, well-researched information. I will cover a wide range of topics relating to marketing yourself and your work and identifying audiences who are likely to appreciate your work. I will offer insights into a range of topics relevant to presenting your work in today’s diverse marketplace.
Among the topics we will discuss:
– Brand development
– Professional practices and prioritizing your marketing strategies
– Fundraising to complete your projects
– Understanding the fine print collecting and the exhibition marketplace
– The role of a publication in your career, and more.
Additionally, I will schedule time for all participants to share work informally with the group, always a highlight for all. We will visit the Center for Creative Photography (The Jazz Loft Project: W. Eugene Smith in NYC, 1957-1965 will be on view) and Etherton Gallery (exhibitions of work by Holly Roberts, Joel-Peter Witkin and Alice Leora Briggs will be on view). Early risers will have a chance to hike and photograph in the area too.
I promise an engaging dialogue about our industry that will help you focus your energies, unleash your creativity, and a wonderful visit to the Sonoran Desert. I look forward to being together in Tucson early in the new year! –Mary Virginia Swanson
