Family Photograph Conservation Talk

Please join us as artist and photographer, Gina DeGideo, talks about the processes of archiving your family history, through the conservation of photographs and film, important documents, and other items you can preserve for future generations. She will discuss proper storage for existing photographs, film, documents, and ephemera, and will explain the many options available to share a reproduce your images – from digital storage to creating new long-lasting prints and personalized family history books.

Gina will talk about her art project with the Morrison family, currently on display in The Gallery at the Gilbert Historical Museum, in which she reproduced their treasured family photographs. She will provide valuable tools and resources found locally to help accomplish archiving your heirlooms and will give you a better understanding of the steps needed to take on this type of project. Following the discussion will be a Q&A session. This talk is free and open to the public after you have paid the general museum admission.
