For the past three years Lara Shipley has been traveling to the borderlands of Southern Arizona, making photographs with a focus of people who’ve made a home in this isolated region and those who are just passing through. Coming, Going and Staying weaves portraits and landscapes together that are a mixture of staged and found scenes. The result is a place that blends a fictional suggested narrative with actual experiences of this unique region, just north of the border.
