DESCRIPTION:This exhibition of eight Arizona Highways photographers presents stunning Arizona imagery by Paul Gill\, Joel Grimes\, Joel Hazelton\, Kerrick James\, Gary Ladd\, Suzanne Mathia\, Erini Pajak\, and Bruce Taubert. The work includes photography featured in the magazine\, as well as photographs never before on display to the public. \nThis seven-week photography exhibition\, in collaboration with Arizona Highways magazine\, and curated by Jeff Kida\, Arizona Highways Photography Editor\, comprises a diverse range of images from portraits of Native Americans to a wide array of scenic images throughout the state of Arizona. \nAbout Arizona Highways Magazine\nArizona Highways magazine was born in the early 1920s. As automobiles emerged as the preferred mode of transportation in the U.S.\, a handful of states throughout the country developed magazines to entice motorists to travel newly developed roads. Sponsored by the states’ departments of transportation\, these magazines provide a unique resource for examining how the automobile changed the history of travel and helped to shape identities of places in America.
