Walk and Talk with the Artists of (re)View: Explorations in Human Nature
As part of the (re)View: Explorations in Human Nature exhibition, Art Intersection is pleased to present a Walk and Talk with artists Karen Hymer, Amy Rockett-Todd, Jonah Calinawan, and Rebecca Sexton Larson. Please join us in the Art Intersection galleries from 4 – 5pm on Saturday, January 9 to hear from the artists about their pieces in the exhibition and their creative processes.
In the exhibition, we take an extended look at work from four exceptional artists who exhibited work earlier this year in our annual Light Sensitive exhibition of hand-made darkroom works, juried by Robert Hirsch. All four artists are making work that relates to the natural world with the clear influence of man. Although each uses different light sensitive processes, their subjects and scenes tie nicely to one another with a quality of surrealism and mystery. These artists work in a variety of different mediums including cyanotype, wet plate collodion, photogravure, and bromoil.
$10 event fee includes hors d’oeuvres and one glass of wine. A closing reception for (re)View will follow the Walk-and-Talk from 5 – 7pm, and is free and open to the public.
