DESCRIPTION:Join Siegfried Rempel and Neil Miller for a lecture and discussion covering the use of a digital camera to capture infra-red images. Infrared (IR) photography produces very interesting images by capturing a spectrum of light that we cannot see. \nWith IR photography\, a cool sky is dark\, green vegetation is light\, and clouds intensify and become very dynamic; every physical object captured by the camera is recorded based on the amount of reflected or emitted IR. \n \nInfra-red photography using a digital camera can be much easier than with traditional analog film. With the ability to view the image\, you can  immediately ascertain focus and exposure. Some cameras are readily capable of capturing the infra-red spectrum\, while others may need to be modified by removing the infra-red filter from the sensor. \nNeil and Siegfried will show you some of their infra-red images and talk about the equipment they use for infra-red photography. \nAfter the lecture\, and now full of curiosity\, you may wish to sign up for the IR Photography Workshop on Saturday and Sunday.
