DESCRIPTION:Join us for a day of PhotoTapas where we celebrate the art of photography. \nThe schedule includes lectures and demos about Ambrotypes\, 3D printed pinhole camera\, photobook lecture by Rebecca Senf\, gallery talk and book signing with Dan Budnik\, Claire A. Warden takes Ambrotype portraits\, gallery talk by Kristin Bedford\, and print sharing in Gallery 4. \nYou will be treated to a Spanish tapas style lunch from Tapas Papa Frita. \nSaturday’s PhotoTapas Schedule\n\n\n9 – 9:30am\nRegistration and meet and greet with coffee\, tea\, and pastries\n\n\n9:40 – 9:50am\nIntroduction and welcome in the Classroom\n\n\n10 – 10:50am\nAmbrotype demo by artist Claire A. Warden in the Classroom\n\n\n11 – 11:50am\nHugh Littlebury will demonstrate the construction of a pinhole camera using a 3D printer and free designs from the web\n\n\n12 – 1:20pm\nSpanish tapas style lunch catered by Tapas Papa Frita\nPop-up store on the Balcony\n\n\n12 – 2:20pm\nAmbrotype portraits by Claire Warden in Classroom Studio. There is an additional cost of $60 for a 4×5 ambrotype portrait\n\n\n1:30 – 2:20pm\nGallery 4 is showing “March to the Freedom Dream”\, and Dan Budnik will give a gallery talk about this work and his new book on the three seminal civil rights marches\n\n\n2:30 – 3:20pm\nLearn more about photobooks in this lecture by Rebecca Senf from the Center for Creative Photography and the Norton Family Gallery\n\n\n3:30 – 4:20pm\nDiscover more about Kristin Bedford’s works in the “Home Bound” exhibition during her gallery talk “Photographing the Divine: Making Work Inside a Religious Sect” in the South Gallery\n\n\n4:30 – 6pm\nEvery participant in this day-long event may bring their work for a portfolio sharing in Gallery 4\nDan Budnik will be in Gallery 4 to sign his book and for more discussion of his work\n\nHere is a link to the last PhotoTapas at Art Intersection. \n \n\n\n\nSpanish Style Tapas\n\nAbout PhotoTapas\nTraditional Spanish tapas are small plates of delectable\, savory edibles shared along with lively conversation among friends and colleagues in a casual\, convivial setting. The idea behind PhotoTapas is to create a similar environment with photography as the focal point. Just as those who sample a variety of traditional tapas often discover intriguing and piquant pleasures for the palate\, participants in PhotoTapas have the opportunity to come together and explore the rich artistic “flavors” of our Arizona photographic community. \nArt Intersection along with a number of other organizations is having events during the month of February to celebrate the art of photography. Here are other PhotoTapas venues.
