SUMMARY:Call for Work - Emerge 2019 Student Photography Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Emerge showcases the breadth of talent exhibited by Arizona’s student photographers from high school freshmen to senior citizens. We welcome photographers enrolled in an Arizona high school (including home school students)\, community college\, art school\, or university to submit their work for consideration.  This year’s submissions to Emerge will be juried by Buzzy Sullivan. \nAs part of our mission to support emerging artists\, we offer student artists an opportunity to show their work in the North and South Galleries at Art Intersection. Art Intersection staff will also select recipients for Best of High School\, Best of Post-High School\, and Best of Show. \n\n   \nAbout the Juror\nBuzzy Sullivan\, a photographer currently based out of Phoenix\, Arizona\, has exhibited his work throughout the US and internationally. Sullivan grew up in Montana\, often known as “The Last Best Place”\, and also home to the largest Superfund site in the United States. Montana’s duality of pristine wilderness and toxic remains formed his interest in the human/nature interface. \nSullivan currently works at the Residential Photography Faculty at Chandler-Gilbert Community College. He received his Master of Fine Art at Arizona State University in 2017 and a BFA from Oregon College of Art and Craft in 2013. \n\nImportant 2019 Dates\nMarch 23 – Submissions close at midnight Arizona\, MT (UTC-7)\nMarch 30 – Email notification of work selected for exhibition\n April 26 – Selected work due at Art Intersection ready to hang/install\nMay 8 – June 1 – Exhibition\n May 11 – Artist Reception\, 5 – 8pm\nJune 6 – June 15 – Pick up work\n June 12 – Work begins shipping back using prepaid shipping labels \n\nEmerge Sponsors\nThank you to our generous sponsors who make our “Best of Emerge” awards possible!
