SUMMARY:A thing or two I know about the Wild West
DESCRIPTION:Morris will be sharing a limited release of books for sale that will include a small bonus image from his book and series\, titled A thing or two I know about the Wild West. \nJim Morris has worked in a variety of positions in the entertainment industry. He’s been a producer\, director\, writer and executive. He began his career as a still photographer and cameraman\, and continues to do fine art photography\, focusing on contemporary urban landscapes. Morris’s images consists largely of vertical compositions shot with a panoramic camera that will lure the viewer in capturing quiet spots of calm and beauty in settings that otherwise might stir a sense of harsh and chaotic surroundings. \n“I photograph little zones that evoke a a wistful sense in me\, sometimes a gently haunting sense of deja vu. In this series\, the governing idea was to take those principles and look at landscapes in slices\, with compositions stacked almost as if they were excavations.” \nThis body of work is shot as transparencies\, and they are replicated on traditional archival photo-chemical papers with the goal of absolutely matching the original images. These images have no manipulation involved. The prints reflect the landscapes as Morris sees them. \nMailbox with Post (at left)\, Stucco (at right) by Jim Morris
