SUMMARY:A Print Sharing Evening Presented by Imageworks
DESCRIPTION:Imageworks presents an evening of portfolio sharing by local artists.  Imageworks is a group of photographers in the greater Phoenix area with the mission to promote excellence in the art form of large format analogue photography. \nIn this sharing event\, Brad Armstrong\, Mike Bischof\, and Larry Golsh will be presenting their artwork. You are invited to view portfolios of these 3 different artists\, discuss the history of the processes and equipment and ask any questions you may have about fine art photography\, composition\, subject matter and print processes for each portfolio sharing. \nThis event is designed for all photographic interests from non-photographer to expert alchemist.  Please join us for an evening of art\, discussion\, learning and exploring! \nImage by Brad Armstrong \nAbout the Artists\nMichael Bischof is a black-and-white fine art photographer. With his large format camera\, he explores nature and urban landscapes\, looking for abstract shapes and patterns to be painted in light and shadow. \nBrad Armstrong\, a photojournalist for over 20 years\, uses his 8×10 camera to capture scenes that reveal a resilience and struggle for survival in our natural environment. \nLarry Golsh’s images often have an architectural theme with gritty subjects\, but compositions that leave us thinking about the interesting play of light. Larry has been a fine art large format black and white photographer and Imageworks member for over a decade. \nImage by Mike Bischof \nAbout Imageworks\nFounded in 1998 by a group of large format photographers in the greater Phoenix area with a common interest in making the highest quality fine art photographic images\, Imageworks is an organization committed to excellence in this art form. \nImageworks is a forum for the collective expression of its members\, limited to 25 individuals. Each member is challenged to produce the finest works possible and then to go farther. Individually and collectively\, the members have seen their work achieve standards that were previously unimaginable. \nImageworks is about large format photography. While members pursue other photographic techniques\, it is the large format camera – its absolute perspective control\, print quality and overall capabilities – that captures the scene and records it\, allowing the photographer to produce an image in his or her own unique style. \nSeveral Imageworks members photograph in the style of the great classic photographers of the twentieth century. Others produce images by extensive hand manipulation and antique processing methods. Still others are exploring the latest advances in chemistry and print production. Collectively\, their work is a magnificent representation of the landscape\, contemporary and classic portraiture\, architecture\, and still life compositions. \nImageworks exhibitions include works in all sizes and manner of presentation. Imageworks offers group exhibits and speakers\, contact us to help you arrange an exhibit of our groups’ work. IMAGEWORKS membership is limited to 25 people\, and is by invitation only.
